Tarawasi

A rarely-visited site with massive platform walls in the same unexplained polygonal style, sitting quietly off the tourist trail.

What mainstream archaeology says

Tarawasi is an Inca administrative center located in the Limatambo district, featuring platform terraces and ceremonial areas.

What the evidence actually shows

The platform walls at Tarawasi show the same impossibly precise polygonal masonry seen at Sacsayhuaman, yet the site receives almost no attention. Its relative obscurity makes it one of the best places to examine the stonework up close, without crowds. The style is too similar to dismiss as coincidence — and too precise to accept the standard explanation.

Key facts

  • Same polygonal masonry style as Sacsayhuaman, but largely overlooked
  • Massive platform terraces built on complex Andean terrain
  • Minimal tourist traffic allows close examination of the stonework
  • Located on the ancient road between Cusco and the coast
